Group Managing Partner & Vice Chairman

Mr. Labbat is the Group Managing Partner and Vice Chairman of ECP. He is involved in all areas of the firm’s investment activities, serves as the Chairman of the Investment Committee and Valuation Committee. Mr. Labbat also is a member of ECP's Management, Risk, and ESG Committees. From June 2015 onwards, he also co-led the Mezzanine Fund with Andrew Singer.

Mr. Labbat serves on the boards of Next Wave Energy Partners, LP and Harvestone Low Carbon Partners GP, LLC. Prior to realization, Mr. Labbat also served on the boards of NCSG Crane & Heavy Haul Corporation, Sendero Midstream Partners, LP, Ice Energy Inc., ProPetro Holding Corp., Summit Midstream Partners, LLC and Summit Midstream Partners, L.P., ADA Carbon Solutions, LLC, Chieftain Sand and Proppant, LLC, NextLight Renewable Power, LLC, Odessa Power Holdings, LLC, Red Oak Power Holdings, and Triton Power Partners LP.

Prior to joining ECP in 2006, Mr. Labbat spent 13 years in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division. He began his career within Goldman Sachs’ Mergers & Acquisitions Department, advising on and executing numerous strategic transactions including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures across a variety of industries. As a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, Mr. Labbat had senior-level coverage responsibility for electric and gas utilities and independent power companies throughout the United States. Mr. Labbat was also responsible for mergers and acquisitions in the natural resources sector.

Mr. Labbat received a B.A. in Economics from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
