ECP created FirstLight Power in November 2006 upon the acquisition of a portfolio of 15 high-quality power plants in Massachusetts and Connecticut, representing ~1,440 MWs. The diverse fleet owned and operated by FirstLight included Northfield Mountain, a 1,080 MW pumped hydro storage station, 12 run-of-river hydro stations, one coal-fired power plant and one oil-fired peaker.
